ProBatter® Baseball Professional
The ProBatter® Professional baseball system is a true-to-life baseball pitching simulator for use at any level. The system includes a video component that permits a hitter to observe the life-size image of an actual pitcher winding up and delivering a pitch which is thrown through the video screen by a computer controlled pitching module. This module is capable of interchangeably creating any pitch (fastball, sinker, cutter, splitter, curve, slider, and change-up) that a pitcher can throw, at speeds up to 100 MPH. Pitch speeds can be varied in increments of two MPH, and thrown to predetermined locations both inside and outside the strike zone with pinpoint accuracy.
The ProBatter® Professional baseball system is as close as possible to real-life Major League pitching--its simulated reality and amazing precision can sharpen hitting skills like no pitching machine has ever done. It offers:
- "Live" pitcher simulation. A combination of life-sized images of actual pitchers throwing realistic pitches, all integrated through computer controls. In a unique process that is the subject of a number of pending patent applications, the ball is delivered through the screen in perfect synchronization with the video image.
- Deliver any pitch at any speed. Pitches include fastballs, sinkers, cutters, curveballs, sliders, changeups and screwballs from both right handed and left handed pitchers in 2 MPH increments to multiple locations both inside and outside the strike zone.
- Incredible accuracy. Pitches are delivered consistently to the desired location within 2 inches.
- Full range of pitcher options. On-screen pitchers can be either left handed or right handed and throw from either a full windup or stretch position to simulate actual game conditions.
- Ultimate convenience. The ProBatter Professional baseball system is ready whenever you need or want a batting practice session. It tirelessly throws Major League pitches under game like conditions without ever getting tired.
- Manual and automatic modes. Pitch sequencing can be established on either a pitch by pitch basis using an easy touch-screen controller to set pitch type, speed and location. Sequences can also be programmed and stored for future uses.
- Specific Pitcher Sequences. A profiling service is available to deliver pitches of actual Major League pitchers.
The ProBatter system is not only a tool for hitters, but has been used successfully to train catchers to properly receive and frame pitches, block pitches in the dirt, and work on their throwing footwork. In addition, it has been used to train pitchers how to set up hitters without any arm strain.
The ProBatter Professional baseball pitching system was thoroughly tested with two Major League clubs and an elite training academy run by a former Major League manager before its introduction in late 2000. It is currently used by four MLB teams and scores of training centers in both the United States and Canada.
