Girl's Lacrosse 7th-12th Winter Leagues
2022-2023 LACROSSE RULES:
CT Teams-(Sportsworld-East Windsor, CT)
****22-23 Sessions will include tournament play and keeping score. Coaches or a parent volunteer should flip the score during the games. After the games, both teams will sign off on the score. The last two games of the session will include tournament playoffs
****If a team gives less than 24 hour notice of a game cancellation, that will be the first warning. If a team does that a second time. Sportsworld reserves the right to remove that team from the schedule. This does not include canceling due to bad weather. If a team feels it is unsafe to drive.
****If a team is up by 10 goals. We will have a MERCY rule and the team that is down, gets the ball at the center circle. Ref blows the whistle to start.
****Youth Checking Rules: full checking. Unless, there is a ref on the field that is only youth certified. We will than ask you to understand and play modified checking for that game. The ref will let you know, if that is the case.
****ALL TEAMS MUST HAVE ACCURATE ROSTERS ONLINE-FOR COMMUNICATION PURPOSES
****ALL TEAMS MUST BE WEARING THE SAME UNIFORM OR PINNEY
****All TEAMS must have an adult present on the sideline or notify the REF that a parent is present watching the game
****Only turf shoes/sneakers can be worn on the turf. Cleats are not allowed
****There is no restriction on number of coaches on sideline for a team
****We will do random roster checks. However, you do not need to check your team in, etc
****Goalies are mandated (Kristen (email@example.com organizes goalies). If there is not a goalie playing. We have exhausted all resources. Please check your emails to fill out goalie request form
- Horn will be buzzed on the hour-to START each game (25 MINUTES for each half)
- Horn will be buzzed 25 minutes after the hour to end the 1st half.
- 30 minutes will be put on clock to start second half. 2nd half starts when 25 minutes is left on clock. It is important that all teams are ready to start the 2nd half by being on the field when 25 minutes hits the clock. If the front desk makes a mistake. We will always start games on the hour.
- Horn buzzes to stop the game at 5 minutes before the hour. This gives time for teams to get off the field and teams to get on the field to start rignt on the hour
-7v7 (plus a goalie) 5 players over the midline and 2 players back. Teams can adjust to 6v6 (plus a goalie) if both teams agree. Only a draw to start the game/half and then a goalie will always clear after a goal is made.
-1st yellow card in a game=Player carded is out for 2 minutes. Team is not a player down.
-2nd yellow card for same player in same game=Player carded is out for the remainder of the game and team is down a player for 2 minutes. Referee reports to Sportsworld and is handled on a case by case basis to determine if the player sits out a game.
2nd YELLOW card (for different player). Player is out 2 minutes. IF A TEAM has 4 or more yellow cards (TEAM is down one player for the rest of the game).
-Red card=Player carded is out for the remainder of the game and team is down a player for the remainder of the game. Referee reports to Sportsworld and is handled on a case by case basis to determine if the player sits out a game, sits out the remainder of the session or is asked to not participate in Sportsworld leagues until determined.
***Please note that Sportsworld can make a decision that a player will sit out the remainder of the Session-with no refund. If there is an extremely dangerous foul or behavior that occured. A player will be notified.
